About
Metafore's Forest Leadership Forum 2006
Building on the widespread success of the inaugural Forest Leadership Forum in 2002,
Metafore took the next step May 3-6, 2006 in Portland,
Oregon by convening action-oriented global leaders in business,
environment and society to help them align business practices in
ways that achieve environmental, social and financial
results.
Forest: a metaphor for sustainability
When you stop to think about it, every business is in
the forest business. To operate, all businesses depend on healthy
forests for paper, wood, water, air and a regulated climate.
Metafore's Forest Leadership Forum 2006 served as the starting place to craft a
strategy for making a positive impact on the future of all forests,
while sustaining a lasting supply of resources, reducing business risks
and increasing shareholder value.
Leadership: ahead of trends
There is a new social and environmental dynamic emerging in
business: An “intelligent marketplace” where buyers and suppliers of
products are becoming more educated on how their operations impact the
world around them.
Companies taking a leadership position in the area of
environmental and social commitment are the ones building brand value
by bridging gaps between the needs of society and the needs of their
customers.
Forum: a place to share knowledge
Metafore’s Forest Leadership Forum is the place to learn about
this market evolution, and how and why business is driving change, addressing questions such as:
How can alignment between business operations and environmental and social achievements drive economic value?
What have we learned from previous attempts to “Green” the marketplace that can aid better decision-making and action?
Who are the leaders and what motivated them to pursue this agenda?
What are the steps my company can take so that we aren’t left behind by our competitors?
The Forest Leadership Forum 2006 was designed to provide business solutions to:
Corporate leaders
Government agencies
Public interest groups
Non-profit corporations
Forest products manufacturers
